Some Local, State and Government Resources:

Cox businesses are reminded to continue to exercise care and sound judgment at all times. Please review your business continuity procedures. Some suggested steps include:

  1. Review your emergency response plans.
  2. Update your business continuity plans.
  3. Become familiar with resources available on this site.
  4. Communicate to employees that they can dial the toll free phone number 1-877-COX-IMOK (1-877-269-4665) for crisis assistance / support and to check in during an emergency.
  5. Utilize our mass communication alert tool, Send Word Now.

Cox Corporate Security is monitoring this activity; businesses are encouraged to get prepared. Please continue to visit this site for updates. Let us know if you have questions or if we can provide support at: Corporate.Security@coxinc.com.

Tornado

Tornado Preparedness and Disaster Response Online Resources
According to the National Weather Center’s National Severe Storms Laboratory, tornado season usually refers to the time of year where the U.S. sees the most tornadoes. The peak “tornado season” for the southern plains – often referred to as Tornado Alley – is during May into early June. On the Gulf Coast, it is earlier during the spring. In the northern plains and upper Midwest, tornado season is in June or July. But, remember, tornadoes can happen at any time of year and at any time of day, but most occur between 3-9 p.m.
